Estimates and Scheduling

• Are estimates free?

Yes. We walk the job, tell you what it needs, and send a written price. No pressure to book on the spot.

 

• How far out are you booking?

It swings with the season. Interior moves fast in winter. Exterior and deck work books furthest out in spring, so call in January or February.

• Do you use your own crew or subcontractors?

Our own crew. The same people who show up on day one are there on the last day.

 

• What areas do you cover?

About 30 minutes from Mokena: New Lenox, Frankfort, Homer Glen, Lockport, Joliet, Tinley Park, Orland Park, and the towns around them.

Interior Painting

​

• Do I need to move my furniture?

Move small items and anything breakable. We move the heavy pieces to the center of the room and cover them.

 

• Do you paint ceilings and trim too?

Yes. Walls, ceilings, trim, and doors, priced as separate lines so you can decide what's in.

 

• Can you match a color I already have?

Usually. Bring a leftover can, a switch plate, or a chip off the wall.

Exterior Painting

 

• What time of year can you paint outside?

April through October, weather permitting. We watch overnight lows and dew point, not just the daytime temperature.

 

• Do you wash the house first?

Always. Washing is prep, not an add-on. Nothing bonds to a dirty or chalking surface.

 

• What about lead paint on an older house?

Homes built before 1978 can have it. We handle those surfaces accordingly rather than sanding them open.

Brick and Siding

 

• Can you paint vinyl siding?

Yes, but not any color. Go darker than the original and the panel takes on more heat than it was built for and warps. We work from vinyl-safe colors.

​

• Is painting brick permanent?

Effectively yes. Stripping it later costs more than the original job and rarely comes out clean.

​

• Will paint trap moisture in my brick?

It will if the wrong product goes on. Brick has to breathe, so we use breathable masonry coatings.

 

• Can aluminum siding be painted?

Yes, and it's good value. The chalking has to come off first, and it usually needs a bonding primer.

 

 

Decks and Fences

 

• My deck is brand new. Can you stain it?

Probably not yet. Fresh pressure-treated lumber holds mill glaze and moisture, and stain won't penetrate either one.

• Should a deck be stained or painted?

Stain on the floor. Paint sits on top and peels on a horizontal surface. Railings and pergolas can be painted.

 

• Can you stain a composite deck?

No. Nothing soaks into composite. It can be cleaned, but that's a different product.

​

• Do you stain both sides of a fence?

We can. It's priced by linear foot, so both sides costs more. Tell us if your neighbor's side needs access.

 

 

Wallpaper Removal

 

• Do you hang wallpaper?

No. We take it off and paint what's behind it.

​

• Can you just paint over the wallpaper?

Sometimes, but it's usually a bad idea. Seams telegraph through, and if the paper lets go it takes the paint with it.

​

• What happens to the walls underneath?

Removal almost always leaves damage. Walls get skimmed, sanded, and primed before color goes on.

​

 

Commercial

 

• Can you work nights or weekends?

Yes. Most commercial work happens outside business hours or in phases.

• Do you handle apartment and condo turnovers?

Yes. We keep a standard spec on file per property so every unit matches the last one.

​

• Do you bid public or prevailing-wage work?

No. We're a residential and light commercial outfit.

 

 

Work We Don't Take

​

• Is there work you don't take?

Cabinet painting and refinishing, garage floor coatings, popcorn ceiling removal, wallpaper hanging, pressure washing on its own, and large industrial projects.
